part 5

FINALLY!

The last part of this book reading-reviewing-blogging-analyzing thing!
I´m not the kind of person who have opinions and feelings about characters, plots and language in books, song or movies, I like them or I don´t, as simple as that! Because of that I found this English course very time-demanding when I had to come up whit a lot of things to say about something I really had no thoughts or feelings about.

Well then… what did I think of the novel, its characters, the plot and the language? I liked it.
Overall, the reading went well. Why? I don´t know. I can´t remember/ come up with anything I´ve learned while reading the book and working whit this book project, except for some words of course.
I did my best to write the letter with thoughts and feelings:

Dear Mr. Stephen King,
I have just finished reading your book “Carrie” and I would like to thank you for writing yet another great book!
In the beginning I could really feel for Carrie when they were laughing and throwing tampons on her in the shower room. It really made me whish that it would never happen to me or anyone I know, it would just be horrible. Further on in the story when you tell of more incidents how they bullied her, I can´t help feeling that they had it coming! And then, her ”momma”, what an awful person! Making her sit in the closet for hours without food and the possibility to go to the bathroom, that is just SICK! Her own mother! I would have liked to seen her torturing her more than she did… It may sound harsh and a strange thing to say, but that is how I feel.
I don’t know if the town exist but I get a picture in my head that it is kind of shabby and old, but maybe it´s just because it is written in the seventies.
I like it when the story jumps from one person to another and from one period of time to another, when you start reading a chapter you have no idea when or where in the story it is or who is telling it. And also the fact that you had at least three views of the same period of time, interesting to see how differently different people look at the same thing!
Many of the words I tried to find in a dictionary but with no luck, I don’t know if you made them up or if it is because they are old…? But anyway, thanks again for a fantastic book!!

With regards from one of your readers.

And then the story! I tried my best and used my imagination, which I could have more of, and came up with this:

Once upon a time there was a dumbbell, he lived in a subterranean, latent “house”, he lived there with a hoarse, hissing, and loathsome woman, they were both blasphemers. One day they took the car and went out for a drive, the man looked on the tach, because his speedometer was broken, and was flabbergasted the fact that they were going way too fast! His woman scolded at him, squalling and braying with a trembling voice. Grimly he thought she was totally immutable, and repented that he ever got together with this immense, way to ornated woman who was always throbbing her shins before she was about to swoon, he never understood why. They stopped at a drug store and while she went in looking for some bobbins for her sewing machine, he was looking pensively out the car window thinking about their vacuous and stern relationship, he would rather have hemophilia! While he as sitting there, two blithely sniggering kids came out of the store, they had been pilfering candy. His redolent woman was coming back to the car and the kids were catcalling at her, she got into the car swearing and used phraseology I hope no one will ever have to hear! On their way home they saw smoke coming from behind the steeple located close to their home, when they came closer it became overt that there was nothing left of their home, just a smoldering pit. He was totally dumbfounded and started crooning unobtrusive so that he wouldn´t swoon. She was churning and squalling madly in total disarray about indemnities and how they would have to wear sackcloth for clothes and how they would be ostracized. He looked penitently to the sky asking for atonement.

I am truly sorry for writing the worst story ever, and having to share it with you all!

This was it for me and I hope I´ll never have to blog again! :p
Thank you and good bye!
